On Friday 16 September, Minister Sarah Courtney launched the Youth Navigators initiative. Workskills wishes to congratulate the state government and the members of the alliance on this great initiative.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the employment landscape. One group needing assistance are the year 12 school leavers. To assist school leavers in their transition from schooling to either work or further education, the Tasmanian Youth Employment Alliance created the Youth Navigators Program.
The Youth Navigators Program will assist 2020 and 2021 school leavers through 1:1 and group support. Workskills’ Impact Communities will be taking the lead in the Hobart area by hosting a Youth Navigator. They aim to eliminate the vocational and non-vocational barriers school leavers face when entering a post-Covid-19 employment landscape. This program will allow school leavers the opportunities they are entitled to, ensuring they fulfil their potential.
