We work with the community to develop programs to support community activities and increase social inclusion.

Examples of Workskills’ Work for the Dole Activities include:

Community Activities

Community Activities offer a wide range of work for the Dole opportunities for participants as well as offering assistance to community organisations.

We have Host Agreements to provide Work for the Dole opportunities to participants. The objectives of these activities are to build on existing skills, learn new skills, develop community capability and improve participants’ chances of finding a job. In particular, undertaking Work for the Dole can provide practical ways for a job seeker to connect with the community.  We have over 50 Host Agreements with not for profit community organisations including St Vincent de Paul, City Mission, Police & Community Youth Club.

If you are a not-for-profit organisation and would like to discuss hosting a Work for the Dole activity please call our Work for the Dole team on 03 6262 5400.

Mobile Work Team

Workskills has a Mobile Team undertaking short term building maintenance, gardening and renovation projects in the Hobart area. These include landscaping, gardening, fencing, painting (non-toxic), tiling, paving, concreting, building maintenance, general renovations and repairs for local community organisations.

Various not for profit groups benefit by having participants complete work activities, such as landscaping, that would otherwise not be completed due to nominal funds.

The Workskills Mobile Team is ready, willing and able to launch into your next project, no matter how big or small.

From simple clean ups to construction jobs, from a morning’s work to a few days, talk to us about how we can assist your charity or not-for-profit organisation to get the job done.

We can assist with garden maintenance, painting, repair works, basic construction of new or existing facilities. And best of all we’re flexible enough to come to you and fit into your schedules.

Gardens, playgrounds, recreation, community and barbeque facilities, inside or out, we can assist with those projects that you need done but aren’t always resourced to do.

The Workskills Mobile Team is ready, willing and able to launch into your next project, no matter how big or small.
