It’s unlikely a job will land in your lap. To find work in a competitive market you have to go out and find it.
A simple way is to look online. Some common recruitment sites are:
If you are looking for work in the government sector:
- The Australian government runs JobSearch and the new JobsHub
- Tasmanian State Government has their own vacancies database
- Your local council should also have a careers page on their website
You can browse vacancies, but the best thing to do is to sign up for alerts, or if the site allows it go to the next level and create a profile and upload your resume.
