A long-term unemployed jobseeker receiving assistance from Workskills was recently successful in gaining ongoing employment with Lloyd’s Carpet Cleaning.
Following initial contact from the employer, Employer Services Officer Leon referred a candidate named Simon due to his excellent personal credentials and desire to enter into a new career path.
The employer requested that Workskills assist in facilitating an interview with Simon, and he found out that he was successful in gaining employment that very day.
Workskills then assisted Simon with work clothing and boots to ensure he was properly prepared for his new role.
The employer was very happy with the level of service that Workskills provided and contacted Workskills to thank them, providing the following feedback:
“I had no idea how to employ staff through jobactive providers such as Workskills. Last time I required assistance I used CES (which shows my age)!
“Leon at Workskills was excellent. He understood my specific requirements and worked hard to find a suitable candidate for my vacancy. I only interviewed one candidate, and I employed him on the spot. I knew nothing about wage subsidies, so being offered one was a pleasant surprise.
“Leon has been excellent in offering subsequent support for my new staff member, and while I am appreciative it has not been needed. I will be seeking an additional staff member in the near future and will not hesitate to contact Workskills again when the time comes.”
