What makes a successful Work for the Dole Activity?
A recently ended Work for the Dole activity at the New Norfolk Golf Club hailed many successes. The crew were supervised by very experienced tradesmen who volunteered their time to work with participants, giving them a work-like experience in construction while upgrading the golf club for the public.
The activity involved:
- Internal painting of the Club House and Change Rooms
- Upgrading the ladies rest room
- Installation of a roller door and buggy storage bays, and
- The creation of hundreds of meters of pathways in and around the course
The quality of the workmanship was a real credit to all participants involved, and the supervisors who worked so well supporting participants to do the best they could do.
The results are well worth a look!
Best of all…25% of participants involved in this Activity ended their Work for the Dole placement for our favourite reason – they “Found Employment!”
Another great example of the successes of participation in a quality Work for the Dole Activity leading to paid employment.
