Indigenous Employment Mentor

Manage a select caseload of Indigenous Job Seekers. You will provide one on one intensive support to ensure Indigenous Job Seekers become job ready and able to enter the workforce with confidence. Placements gained will be sustained for 75% of the entrants for 26 weeks using excellent communication, problem solving skills and Post Placement Support.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Caseload Management of Indigenous Job Seekers
  2. Pre-Employment Support and Mentoring
  3. Post Placement Support and Mentoring
  4. Administration
  5. Networking, communications and marketing
  6. Compliance with Legislation, Employment Services Deed and Workskills’ Policies and Procedures
  7. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
  8. Team work and personal responsibilities
  9. Deliver training in accordance with caseload requirements.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated record in achieving and exceeding performance targets in an outcomes driven environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Provision of a current National Criminal Records Check
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Excellent computer skills including experience using Word, at a minimum intermediate level, Excel and Outlook
  • Proven experience and ability to deliver training and support to individuals and groups
  • Transferable skills that will allow you to manage client caseloads with the ability to demonstrate proven strategies for overcoming personal, social, economic and/ or cultural barriers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current labour market trends and how this may impact on Employment Services both negatively and positively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clients that may at times prove challenging or aggressive

Desirable:

  • Relevant industry knowledge and experience
  • Experience in or working with, marginalised cohorts
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline
