Thursday was an amazing day for Workskills, we were awarded with our formal “Employer of Choice” recognition. I strongly believe, we have worked hard to provide a consistent focus on our most valuable asset in our business and that is our people!!! To be recognised externally is very special. The judges from the Department of State Growth agreed with us saying:

The key challenge being successfully addressed at Workskills is to focus its management of human resources more on action than administration. This active approach is underpinned by a comprehensive, guided mentoring program which links to succession and performance plans. The organisation identifies talent, and tailors roles that build careers. Leaders make significant effort to manage the uncertainty of short term funding cycles by sharing financial results and quality measures – all staff know exactly how the business is tracking, and teams are highly engaged in continuous improvement.

Our HR manager and the whole leadership team have done a brilliant job in getting this initiative from inception through to being awarded our certificate, amongst 250 of our peers in business.

Our commitment to our people through initiatives such as our “Mentoring” program, “Ground Up” program, flexibility with working arrangements, “Reward and Recognition” program is amongst many other things we do to assist with our aim of having great people doing great things. Our Board of Management has been so supportive of our “people” initiatives and it was great to have Chris (Chair) and Steve (Treasurer) at the awards ceremony.
