Industry Training and Internships
Industry-specific training, motivation and hard work has paid off for three young Workskills clients who are now working in the lucrative Building and Construction Industry. Beau, Dan and Nathan have all been employed directly in ongoing work as Scaffolders with Connect Safety Solutions after successfully engaging in pre-employment training and undertaking Internships facilitated by Workskills.
For Michael and Renee at Connect Safety Solutions, utilising Workskills’ services in recruiting suitable candidates has meant they have been able to grow their business to capitalise on the booming home construction sector in 2018.
“We were pleasantly surprised with the ease of obtaining staff through Workskills. The internships are a great way to ‘test-drive’ potential employees to ensure they are a good fit for the company. From pre-employment training to post-employment support, Workskills have been fantastic at finding the right people for the job and making the whole process simple and hassle-free” – Renee, Connect Safety Solutions
Beau undertook industry training as a scaffolder and was offered work immediately after successfully completing his Basic Scaffold training. Beau received outstanding feedback from his trainers resulting in plenty of employer interest. Beau is proof that by investing in training and development new opportunities become available.
As for Nathan and Dan, being willing to work as an intern meant they were able to make a strong impression on their host employers. Workskills assisted Connect by identifying Dan and Nathan as ideal candidates for their business needs, assisted with their PPE and placement, and provided support during their internship. Dan and Nathan’s hard work paid off as they were both offered ongoing paid work as a result of their efforts early into their internships!
